Mid-Western Rodeo Tops Great Lakes Circuit Rodeo Honors - Wins Rodeo of the Year |
|
The Mid-Western Rodeo held each year in Manawa, Wisconsin was announced the 2007 Medium Rodeo of the year at the 2007 Great Lakes Circuit Finals Rodeo held November 8-10 in Louisville, Kentucky. Considered the largest category, the medium rodeo includes twenty one rodeos in nine states (Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota, Ohio, Iowa, Kentucky, and Missouri). Rodeo contestants cast votes for their favorite rodeos in the following three categories: Large (over $35,000.00 purse), Medium ($10,001.00 - $34,999.00 purse), and Small ($10,000.00 purse and under). Other year-end awards included best stock of the year, horse of the year (in its event), and sponsor of the year. These awards are given to show the contestants' appreciation for the efforts of the people or organizations that put forth the extra effort to improve their sport, promote growth, increase their fan base, and keep rodeo growing as America's Sport. "Awards given at year end are kind of a big deal to us, because the contestants are the ones doing the voting, and if they like it we must be doing something right." stated Peter Ziebell Mid-Western Rodeo Chairman. The Manawa Lions-sponsored Mid-Western Rodeo will be celebrating 50 years in 2008. Rodeo dates are July 4th, 5th, and 6th. Bring the whole family and see what the excitement is all about.
