2008 Rodeo Princess!

My name is Katie Bauer and I was born and raised on our family dairy farm near the village of Ogdensburg. I attended the Little Wolf High School in Manawa and graduated in 2006. I went on to attend the University of Wisconsin River Falls majoring in Pre / Vet Animal Science Equine Emphasis and Dairy Science. Along with my studies I work at the University's Dairy Lab farm milking cows. Figure skating is a big part of my life and I have pursued it for almost nine years and now I am able to coach figure skating at River Falls.

My love and passion for horses is a great part of my life. As a little girl I have always dreamed of getting a horse and at ten years old my parents made that dream come true. My knowledge has grown from my experiences of taking care of three horses of my own in the past. My horse experiences have been trail riding and simply the enjoyment of having the backyard horse for pleasure riding. In junior high I helped out at several local stables where I did chores in exchange for riding lessons and was able to compete in a Dressage Schooling Show.

The times that I have attended the Mid-Western Rodeo I have dreamed of being that Rodeo queen / princess. I thought it would be so neat to one day be that person riding a horse and representing the Mid-Western rodeo. Well 2008 is my year where I made that dream come true and I am so proud to be able to represent the Manawa Mid-Western Rodeo. To take part in an event that is held every year in my hometown that I know best is an honor.

I would like to thank all those who have supported me in this process of being Rodeo Princess. My family is a great part of my life and I am thankful to have such good support.

Thank you again and hope to see everyone around.
